Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is from Sri Lanka. There are two older brothers and two younger brothers. Parents moved to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan tensions and she was born and raised in Bahrain. After graduating from school in Bahrain she was awarded an Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She was also a student at an institute called the Berlitz school of languages that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6, 2006 and competed at Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television and anchored a show that was a business show in Sri Lanka called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of former badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone competed in a variety of championships for national badminton. She eventually gave up playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and is fluent in Konkani as her primary language. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone's father was an international champion in badminton who retired. Her mom is a traveling agent.
